Green Travel is an initiative under the Erasmus Programme that promotes the use of environmentaly friendly means of transportation. Its aim is to reduce carbon emissions, support sustainable mobility, and minimize the environmental impact of Erasmus mobility activities.
Students are encouraged to choose sustainable modes of transport, such as trains, buses, bicycles, or carpooling, instead of air travel whenever possible. By doing so, participants contribute to environmental protection while supporting the European Union's sustainability goals.
In accordance with the rules of the relevant project period, participants who meet the Green Travel eligibility criteria may benefit from additional financial support and/or extra travel days. To be eligible, participants must provide supporting documents demonstrating the use of environmentaly friendly transportation (such as train or bus tickets) and submit the required Green Travel Declaration Form to the Erasmus Office. (The Green Travel Declaration Form is available on our website.)
Green Travel support is provided in accordance with the Erasmus Implementation Handbook for the relevant academic year and the funding rules established by the Turkish National Agency. Eligibility criteria, support conditions, and grant amounts may vary depending on the relevant project period.
