The "Media of the Future: Digital Transformation, Artificial Intelligence, and Turkey" Workshop, hosted by Istanbul Nişantaşı University in cooperation with Haberler.com, brought together academics, industry representatives, and media professionals to address the digital transformation process of the media sector.
The opening speeches of the workshop were given by Istanbul Nişantaşı University Rector Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Komsuoğlu Çıtıpıtıoğlu, Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design Prof. Dr. Berrin Şahin Kalsın, and Haberler.com CEO Dr. Sümeyra Teymur. The speeches addressed the effects of digital transformation on the media ecosystem, AI-assisted content production, and the changing dynamics within the sector.
In the sessions held as part of the workshop, the sectoral and academic impacts of media and technology integration were discussed. In the session on the financial sustainability of digital media, traditional and digital media ventures were compared, and the economic dynamics within the sector were analyzed. In the session titled Media Law and Digital Rights, the rights of content creators and the adequacy of existing legal regulations were evaluated. In the session on artificial intelligence and media literacy, the effects of AI-assisted content production on the media field were addressed, while the role of media tools in digital literacy and education was discussed. In the session on content production and disinformation, information security, ethical journalism principles, and the advantages and risks of AI-assisted news production were evaluated.
The workshop concluded with assessments on the future of the media sector and closing remarks. Certificates of appreciation were presented to participants, and it was noted that Istanbul Nişantaşı University would continue its academic and sectoral collaborations with the media sector. It was announced that the workshop report would be shared with the public in the coming days.
