Nişantaşı University Academics Represented Turkey at the International Health Sciences Congress Held in Uzbekistan

The IMVHSC 10th International Medical, Veterinary and Health Sciences Congress, held in Fergana, Uzbekistan on November 17–19, 2025, brought together academics and scientists from 10 different countries, creating a scientific platform with broad participation. Among the 36 academics from Turkey who took part in the congress, Istanbul Nişantaşı University was represented by two distinguished faculty members: Prof. Dr. Ece Salihoğlu and Prof. Dr. Emrah İpek.

 

Prof. Dr. Ece Salihoğlu Served as Scientific Chair

At the in-person sessions held on November 18, the scientific chairmanship of Hal-1 was carried out by our Vice Rector and faculty member Prof. Dr. Ece Salihoğlu.

Salihoğlu led the session in which academics from various universities presented their work in fields such as cardiology, anesthesiology, family medicine, and public health, contributing to the conduct of scientific discussions in an academic setting.

 

Prof. Dr. Emrah İpek Spoke at the General Session

At the General Session held as part of the congress's opening program, Prof. Dr. Emrah İpek, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Nişantaşı University, took the stage as one of the opening speakers representing Turkey.

He then shared his scientific study titled "Effects of E-Cigarettes & Tobacco on Heart Rate Variability Parameters: A Case-Control Study. Which One is Worse?" with the participants.

This study drew attention at the congress for its comparative examination of the effects of tobacco and e-cigarette use on the cardiovascular system.

 

 

Special Statements to Uzbekistan Television

Within the scope of the congress, both of our academics gave statements to Uzbekistan's National TV Channel. In these interviews, topics such as:

Turkey's strong medical education infrastructure,

Nişantaşı University's academic experience in health sciences,

Student and academic exchange programs between Turkey and Uzbekistan,

The vision for joint medical education, curriculum sharing, and academic integration

were addressed.

Prof. Dr. Emrah İpek and Prof. Dr. Ece Salihoğlu emphasized that the scientific collaborations to be developed between the two countries would create new opportunities, particularly in the field of health education.

 

A Strengthening Academic Bridge Between the Two Countries

Bilateral cooperation protocols were also signed on November 19 as part of the congress program, aiming to develop academic partnerships between universities. Within this framework, Nişantaşı University stated that it is open to collaboration in the areas of joint research, exchange programs, and curriculum development in health sciences.

 

Nişantaşı University on the International Scientific Stage

This significant participation increased our university's international visibility while carrying our academics' scientific output to global platforms and contributing to the strengthening of long-standing academic relations between Turkey and Uzbekistan.
