The RADIO (Research & Innovative Development International Offices) Project, supported by the EU Erasmus Capacity Building in Higher Education Program and in which Istanbul Nişantaşı University is a consortium partner, held its kick-off meeting. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Selçuk Paker, faculty member of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Istanbul Nişantaşı University, and Projects Advisor Başak Tüzün, as well as representatives from Houari Boumediene University of Science and Technology (project leader) and Abdelhamid Ibn Badis Mostaganem University from Algeria, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and the German University in Cairo from Egypt, and the University of Pau from France. This 36-month project aims to increase research collaborations between universities in the European and Mediterranean regions, promote interdisciplinary studies, and strengthen international academic cooperation.
Within the scope of the project, Istanbul Nişantaşı University and the University of Pau will provide support for the structuring of RADIO International Research Offices to be established at universities in the Mediterranean region, as well as for strengthening capacities in the fields of research and technology management. In order to support interdisciplinary research in areas such as environmental sustainability, innovative technologies, and digital transformation, Istanbul Nişantaşı University will design intensive training programs and workshops for academics and researchers, organize a train-the-trainer program, and provide technical support for the establishment of RADIO Laboratories. The RADIO Project will contribute to strengthening the research capacities of universities in the Mediterranean region, helping them build stronger academic and scientific ties with higher education institutions in Europe.
