The 2025–2026 Academic Year Opening Ceremony was held at Istanbul Nişantaşı University. The ceremony began with a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem.

In her opening speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Komsuoğlu Çıtıpıtoğlu shared the pride and enthusiasm of the upcoming 102nd anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, commemorating Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and al the heroes of the Republic with gratitude and respect.

Rector Prof. Dr. Komsuoğlu Çıtıpıtoğlu emphasized the university’s restructuring process under the “New NEV” initiative, highlighting that the institution continues to strengthen its vision through academic excellence, international visibility, digital transformation, and community engagement.

She also underlined that long-term internship programs and industry–university collaborations have played a crucial role in enhancing students’ professional competencies, noting that innovative practices such as the IMU model have become one of the university’s strongest assets.

Following the opening remarks, the 2025–2026 Academic Year Inaugural Lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Zekeriyya Kurşun, titled “From Past to Present: The Anatomy of an Occupation”. In his lecture, Prof. Dr. Kurşun stated that the Palestinian issue is not only a regional problem but also a universal matter that concerns the conscience of humanity.

He continued his speech by emphasizing that “World peace cannot be achieved without resolving the Palestinian issue,”offering participants both an academic and humanistic perspective through a comprehensive historical analysis.

The ceremony symbolized a powerful beginning to a new academic year shaped by knowledge, science, and universal values.

Istanbul Nişantaşı University will continue its journey in the 2025–2026 academic year with a vision of excellence in education, innovation, and social contribution.
